Pistol: Reloads

Grab your pistol, empty magazines, your belt, and clear out a space in your environment to learn how to properly perform reloads. Remember, this is dry fire, so be absolutely sure there is no live ammunition in or around the space you are working in.

This is a step-by-step follow along guide where i will teach you how to perform the speed reload in two versions; the “Top off reload,” which is a planned reload where there is hypothetically a cartridge in the chamber, and the “Dry reload,” where you have hypothetically ran completely out of ammunition and you must replenish the ammunition source and also feed a cartridge into the chamber. You can use dummy rounds for these drills but I recommend starting off without dummy rounds to get the techniques down. This guide does follow the Pistol Grip Stance and Draw cycle instructional guides, I recommend you view them and learn those techniques before progressing onto this lesson.

There is a lot of information contained in these videos so take it in stride and if you need a break, take one. Consistency is key with these techniques, with more reps and time spent you will improve. Remember this is a journey, please be kind to yourself while you learn a new skill.

Train hard, train safe, enjoy the process.
